HR in the AI era
At Commit, AI is “reshaping everything we do, but in the best possible way”
Commit has embraced AI with a “holistic” philosophy, says its VP of HR, who explains the company views the tech as a powerful enhancement to human capabilities, making its employees more capable and valuable, rather than redundant.
“Our philosophy is that AI doesn't replace our employees – it empowers them to be more strategic and innovative,” said Lena Mezamer, VP HR at Commit. “We focus on making our teams more efficient by automating routine, repetitive tasks, allowing our professionals to concentrate on higher-value, strategic work.”
CTech’s "HR in the AI Era" series explores how the AI revolution is impacting the workforce across Israeli high-tech companies. In this series, we uncover the effects (both personal and professional) that this technology shift has had on Startup Nation.
“Our growth strategy focuses on hiring professionals with AI capabilities and experience, as these skills are becoming essential across all technical roles,” Mezamer added. “We prioritize candidates who already have familiarity with AI tools and methodologies.”

On a scale of 1-10, how much does the AI revolution disrupt your company operation in general, and the HR department specifically?
8
For us, the AI revolution is a tremendous opportunity and competitive advantage. Since we specialize in AI solutions and services, this revolution aligns perfectly with our core business. Rather than disrupting our operations, AI enhances and accelerates our capabilities. We're at the forefront of AI implementation, actively driving the transformation rather than just adapting to it. We help our clients navigate their AI transformation journeys while implementing cutting-edge AI solutions internally.
In HR specifically, AI tools have streamlined our processes and made us more efficient without causing operational challenges. We view this as a positive transformation that gives us a significant edge in the market. It's reshaping everything we do, but in the best possible way.
What interesting AI tools do you and your staff use in employee management/recruitment?
We utilize several AI-powered tools in our HR processes:
- Advanced AI platforms for developing customized interview content and assessment frameworks tailored to specific candidate profiles.
- Internal AI-powered screening and filtering tools developed specifically for our needs.
- AI-generated content for employee onboarding, including specialized podcasts and training materials.
- AutonomyAI platform integration – leveraging cutting-edge autonomous AI agents that understand organizational context and workflows.
- AI tools integrated into our recruitment platform for candidate assessment and matching.
In which roles or tasks within your company has AI already begun to replace human labor (if at all)?
Our philosophy is that AI doesn't replace our employees – it empowers them to be more strategic and innovative. We focus on making our teams more efficient by automating routine, repetitive tasks, allowing our professionals to concentrate on higher-value, strategic work. AI handles the obvious, automatic processes, freeing our people to develop in new directions and tackle more complex, creative challenges. This approach makes our employees more valuable and capable rather than redundant.
What are the two major challenges you are coping with these days?
Keeping pace with rapid AI development: We face the challenge of staying ahead of the curve with the accelerated pace of AI evolution and ensuring our teams not only keep up but continue to lead with the most advanced, cutting-edge skills and tools in the industry.
Scaling our workforce to meet growing demand: Managing significant growth in client demand for AI services while maintaining our high standards of service delivery and ensuring we attract and retain top talent with AI expertise.
Have you experienced workforce-related challenges due to the war, and are you still feeling the impact of the security situation on your human resources?
Yes, we experienced significant impact from the war. Many of our employees were called to reserves, creating immediate staffing challenges. However, we successfully managed this situation by leveraging our existing team members, implementing stretching strategies, and reorganizing workflows. We learned to adapt quickly and maintain operations with the available workforce while supporting our employees during this difficult period.
Have you made changes to your workforce following the increased use of AI tools, both in terms of headcount and internal shifts between departments?
We haven't reduced headcount due to AI implementation. Instead, we're training and upskilling our employees to work alongside AI tools more effectively. Our philosophy is enhancement rather than replacement – we provide our teams with additional tools and capabilities, enabling them to grow professionally while AI handles routine tasks. This approach creates opportunities for career development in new directions as mundane work becomes automated.
How does the global market uncertainty affect your workforce, in terms of employee numbers or departmental reallocations? Are you scaling your workforce up or down in different regions around the world?
Despite global market uncertainty, we're seeing tremendous growth in demand for AI services across all our markets – Israel, US, Canada, UK and CEE. This high demand is driving our expansion plans rather than causing reductions. The AI revolution has created a massive market opportunity that we're actively pursuing through strategic workforce growth.
Do you estimate that in 2025–2026 you will increase or decrease the number of personnel? Explain why.
We estimate significant workforce growth in 2025-2026. This expansion is driven by:
- Unprecedented client demand for AI services and solutions.
- Our position as market leaders in AI implementation and training.
- The need to support clients' AI transformation journeys.
- Expansion opportunities in international markets where we see explosive demand for AI expertise.
Our growth strategy focuses on hiring professionals with AI capabilities and experience, as these skills are becoming essential across all technical roles. We prioritize candidates who already have familiarity with AI tools and methodologies.
What is your bottom line on this topic?
The AI landscape is evolving incredibly rapidly, and we're committed to ensuring our team stays ahead of the curve. We invest heavily in continuous learning and development, ensuring our professionals have access to the latest tools, technologies, and methodologies in the AI space.
Our approach to AI in HR and across the organization is holistic – we embrace AI as a powerful enhancement to human capabilities rather than a replacement for human talent. This philosophy has allowed us to maintain strong team morale while achieving efficiency gains and growth.
